A Date Night Engagement Photoshoot in San Francisco | S + B

Imagine an engagement photoshoot that doesn’t just end after one hour. Instead, you plan a date night to all of your favorite places and have your photographer tag along. This is exactly what Sarah and Brian did and I am obsessed. It was meaningful, intentional, and they seriously had the best time throughout the whole evening. So, if you are planning your engagement session, I HIGHLY recommend booking a date night engagement photoshoot with more time and more locations!

Falling in Love in San Francisco

Sarah and Brian met in San Francisco five years ago, where they started their lives together! Brian proposed over the summer, and then they shortly moved out of San Francisco so it was super special for them to come back into the city to celebrate their engagement and capture their love in all their favorite places!

I loved that they chose to come back to SF for their engagement session because this place meant something to them. Being intentional with your engagement photos will make them that much more special in the long run. Whether it’s where you met, where you took your first vacation together, or where you told each other I love you for the first time, taking your photos in a meaningful location will be so authentic and true to your relationship.

A Tour of Their Love Story in San Francisco

This session was so much fun because we went all over SF. Their love story started in San Francisco, so we shot in all of their favorite places. We started in Dogpatch, where they first met and fell in love. They started out as neighbors here, and eventually shared their first apartment in this neighborhood! We went to their favorite coffee shop (Piccino), and then walked around all their favorite streets before heading up to their favorite park where they spent so many evenings walking their sweet pup Taki!

While we were up there, we HAD to stop at the top of Petrero Hill for that epic view of the San Francisco skyline.

After stopping at all of their favorite city spots, we headed for the beach!! During the pandemic, they spent many many evenings out at Fort Funston, running around with Taki and taking in the sunset. So for their engagement session, we did exactly that! It was so fun to get to capture them in their element, playing with each other and loving on their sweet pup.

Each one of these places had a special meaning to them with beautiful memories of them falling in love. You could tell they were truly in their element and soaking up their time at each location. It was nostalgic, romantic, and overall so special for the two of them to capture their date night engagement photos in the place they fell in love.

Why You Should Book a Full Story Engagement Session

I loved this session so so much because it truly felt like I was just tagging along on a date night with them. It was a true look into their lives together, and now they have photos that encapsulate this moment of time for them. That is the beauty of documentary-style photography!!! Capturing authentic photos that represent and feel like YOU.

Longer sessions mean more locations, more personalization, and telling the full story of your love. As someone who has captured tons of engagement sessions, this is by far my favorite type of session. I truly believe that being more intentional with your photos will allow you to have so much more fun at your session. Being in places that make you feel comfortable with loving memories evokes real and raw emotion.

You get to marry the love of your life soon. Now is the time to embrace the love as much as you can and appreciate all the places and things that were a part of your journey of falling in love.

The more intentional you can be with your engagement session, the more you will enjoy it. And booking more time with your photographer allows you to relax and just enjoy this time with your fiance.
