Where to Shop For Your Bridal Era
Well first of all congratulations on your engagement!! You are now entering one of the most exciting times of your life and I couldn’t be happier for you. As a San Francisco wedding and elopement photographer and as someone who just got married this past year, one of the most exciting but also nerve-wracking tasks is picking out your wedding attire. And it’s not just for the day of your wedding but for bridal showers, bachelorette parties, engagement photoshoots, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners. It can be a lot but I’m here to hopefully make it a little easier for you. In this guide, I am sharing the best places to shop for your dream wedding attire.
Where do you even start?
This is exactly how I felt when I started planning my wedding. I had somewhat of an idea of the theme I wanted my wedding to be, but the overwhelming feeling of picking out my outfits quickly consumed me. So, I took a step back and of course, went straight to Pinterest. I just started searching away looking for outfits and inspiration that stood out to me. The more pins I saved, the easier it was for me to start to understand exactly how I wanted to look and feel for my wedding.
Now that I had an idea of what I wanted to wear, I had no idea where to shop. Luckily over the years of working with brides, I have created a list of tons of places to shop and I want to share it with all of you.
Where to Shop For Your Wedding Attire
Dresses and Bridal Accessories
Okay, let’s first start off with bridal dresses. All of the places listed below are great for finding the perfect outfits for your engagement party, bachelorette weekend, or bridal shower. These are also great places to shop for an outfit for your engagement photos.
Show Me Your Mumu is one of my absolute favorite places for bridal outfits. They have so many gorgeous white dress options and the cutest bridal accessories. They also have some stunning bridesmaid dresses.
Lulus is such a classic for finding dresses. They have so many different options to choose from and they even have some STUNNING dresses that could be perfect for your wedding day or elopement that are super affordable. If you are planning on doing a couple of different outfits for your engagement photoshoot, Lulu has tons of different styles and accessories.
The House of CB is a more traditional wedding dress store but they have some of the most beautiful dresses that aren’t too pricey. They have amazing options for both wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses.
Princess Polly is a great place to shop for all the events leading up to your wedding. They have tons of affordable and gorgeous white dresses. Definitely recommend browsing their website if you are in search a couple of cute dresses for your engagement photoshoot.
Selfie Leslie is another store that has some timeless and classy dresses to choose from. They have dresses perfect for your bridal events and I think some of the dresses would even be great for your wedding or elopement day. Also lots of great bridesmaid options that don’t look too “bridesmaid-y” if you know what I mean 😉
Fortunate One is another great store for tons of options for dresses from classy bridal party dresses to more casual and flowy dresses perfect for your engagement photos or honeymoon.
Reformation is a store that offers more sustainable wedding dress options that are beautiful and perfect for the bride wanting to have a more eco-friendly wedding.
Bachelorette Party Outfits
Shopping for your bachelorette party outfits is so exciting because you can have so much fun with your outfits. You can choose to be more classy and elegant or have some fun with a more wild outfit. This is your time to let loose and have the best time with your friends and your outfit should reflect that!
12th Tribe is a super cute store that has so many fun outfit options perfect for your bachelorette weekend. They have fun dresses, adorable two-piece sets, and super unique tops and pants.
Her Pony offers outfits that definitely show a little more skin but these are so fun and perfect if you are going to a warm location. Whether it be Vegas or Mexico, you can have so much fun with picking your outfits from Her Pony.

Where to Shop For More Unique Bridal Attire
Thrifting
If you are someone who absolutely loves super unique pieces then I could not recommend thrifting enough. While it definitely takes some patience to find the right pieces, you 1000% can find some of the most gorgeous and unique accessories or clothing items. It’s also a great way to make your wedding a bit more sustainable and to help you save some money.
Etsy
I freaking love searching Etsy for unique bridal accessories because most of the things you find on there are handmade and much more unique.
Ask Your Mom
If your mom has her wedding dress or veil and she is okay with you altering it a bit, I think this is such a special way to make your wedding attire that much more meaningful. You could use her veil in your engagement photos or alter her wedding dress to wear for your rehearsal dinner. I have seen some beautiful pieces from brides who have done this.
