Capturing a Creative Branding Photoshoot

This is your sign to plan a creative branding photoshoot ASAP. I am such a huge fan of branding sessions!!! Maybe I am biased but I really think that having professional brand photos is one of the most powerful ways to elevate your brand and level up your online presence!

In this digital age, people are using Instagram as a search engine more and more. Whether people are looking for a new hair stylist,  tattoo artist, interior designer, or life coach, one of the first places people look is Instagram. Your online presence is usually the first impression you make so having some strong photos that really show off your brand is SO HUGE! People are so much more attracted to brands that feel personable and show personality, so it’s important to have photos and branding that set you apart! Plus, it’s a fun way for companies and brands to have a fun little day together and get creative!

Now you might be ready to schedule your creative branding photoshoot but the planning process scares you a bit. Don’t worry, I got you! In this blog, I’m sharing all the tips for planning your brand photoshoot so you feel your best and end up with photos that truly show who your brand is.

5 Tips To Help You Plan Your Creative Branding Photoshoot

Find a Photographer Whose Style You LOVE

Okay, this one is so so important because the way the photographer edits and shoots will have a big impact on the way your photos turn out. If you want a darker, moodier vibe, make sure to choose someone with that style. I also recommend picking a photographer who has experience with branding photoshoots. They will know exactly how to direct you and give you the best end result.

Collaborate With Your Photographer

Your photographer is there to support you in every aspect of your photoshoot, including the planning process.  Work with your photographer to come up with a fun creative vision for the photoshoot! Having a concept to work off of will help everyone have a direction!

Coordinate Outfits

If you are doing a team photoshoot, make sure to coordinate outfits. Work with your team to plan outfits that complement each other, without it being too “matchy-matchy”. We don’t want the photos to feel like a 2010 family photo where everyone is wearing blue jeans and a white top…. But we want it to feel cohesive and complimentary!

Consider Your Branding Colors

Think about the colors you already use in your branding! If you have a website, newsletter, or any physical stationery, think about the colors that are used throughout the branding and pick outfits that compliment your branding colors!

Use Props

I’m usually not a big fan of props in Photoshoots because I like to let the subjects shine and really be the focus, but I think branding sessions are the perfect opportunity to have fun with props! I love to use different types of seating to add some dimension and layering to the group shots and have different options for people! Sometimes being in front of a camera can be pretty uncomfortable for people, and I find that sometimes just having the subject sit down can really help them relax and get more comfy!

When thinking about props, try and think about different elements that help tell your brand story! It could be tools, books, paintbrushes, cameras, etc!

Meet Your San Francisco Brand Photographer

Hi there, I’m Meg, your San Francisco Branding Photographer!

I’ve always wanted to be a photographer and to be able to call this my full-time job is an absolute dream come true. Creating captivating, authentic images just sets my soul on fire and I have so much gratitude for this art. I love capturing moments. I’m the girl who takes my film camera everywhere I go because I just want to look back and remember what I was feeling at that moment. I love being able to look at a photo and travel back in time.

Being a photographer has allowed me to find the moments of beauty in everyday life and there is nothing I love more than allowing people to see themselves as a piece of art.
